The short version

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and embeds no content from third-party servers. Fonts and images are served from the same server as the page.

Hosting on GitHub Pages

The site is served via GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the site, GitHub processes the data technically required to deliver it – in particular your IP address, date and time of the request, the address requested and information about your browser. According to GitHub, the IP address of visitors to a GitHub Pages site is logged and stored for security purposes.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is delivering the site securely and reliably. Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. GitHub has certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). More in GitHub’s privacy statement.

If you write to me, I process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). I delete them once they are no longer needed for that and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Kira itself

Kira runs on your own computer. Kira sends no usage data to me, contains no ads or tracking, and the license key is checked offline. Kira only connects to services you use or set up yourself – for example your AI provider via Hermes, GitHub, Google Calendar or notifications via ntfy. Kira lists them under Help → Privacy.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
